2005 30ft Concept
Hello,
-the wife and I currently have a small performance boat but are looking to enjoy a center console also that is sporty (this could be a lot of fun having 6-8 friends along for a poker run in it, being able to walk around the entire boat, easy on and off while up at a sand bar from the front or back)! I really liked the 30ft wellcraft scarab series but I do not see many newer ones and they do not seem as stylish. Can I get some info from owners (the boat we have seen has twin mercury 250 salt water series motors). How does the boat run? Rough water? Handling? Issues? Now is the time for honesty!
??what speed would this boat run comoftably and does it like rough water?
Thank You!

Should run about 73-74mph. I think at one point we had ours going 73.2 with 3/4 fuel and 4 people. We are running 23 3 blades because the 300's don't like the 4 blades and last year with a full tank I was runnning about 72mph but only at 5600 rpms. They should be turning about 6200. Being that it's an 8' beam the boat loves a head and following sea but doesn't care for a quartering sea. Tends to want to go side to side. Make sure you have K-plans. Boat is awesome! Last year was the 2nd year we did the Key West run with it and it's always been 4 or 5 guys and we have a great time!! Very reliable. In 2007 we had a battery issue so we lost the center motor right when we left Key West so we just raised it up and ran 45-50mph all the way back to Miami on 2! No problem! If you are looking for a sporty offshore look, Concepts are the way to go!! They do a great job with their boats!!

check out www.deepimpactboats.com
Deep Impacts are awesome boats but 1st post is hi-jacking a thread in the Concept forum? Ouch....
I'm on my 2nd Concept and as nice as it is and as nice as Deep Impacts are I think they are for different purposes and buyers...

Mark, Deep Impact must be desprate that they have to go in anothers boat manufactures thread and post their website. I think that is unprofessional what do you think.
