If I can help answer any questions on a 36 with trips, I set one up with 300xs on it, spent a lot of money and time messing around on it. If I had to do it over I would have had twin 300's.

Ended up with a 32 with twins 250 optis that will be swapped for 300 Verados soon. Seems like the trip 36 boats are hit or miss on ride quality and the twin 36's are a little too slow. The 32 will fit my boating just fine, and the open layout actually gives you as much (or more) cockpit space as the 36.

2008 250 Optis, 25" shafts, standard and counter rotation. 122 and 123 hours (a little more soon as I am still using the boat). Excellent condition. Very little or no corrosion or rust. $19,000 obo for the pair. Will include the rigging, oil tanks, etc. for that price (minus controls).

Thanks, not quite ready yet, my old OX 66's actually run perfect and I dont really run enough hrs to justify the fuel savings. I had a pr of 06 225 Opti's and was real happy with them,

I think this is on point. I just don't think you get enough benefit from the third engine on boats this size to justify the additional cost of maintenance, fuel, and the porpoising issues. I had a PowerPlay with trip 250s but I would go twin 300s next time for sure.
