Is the drive oil supposed to be used in the gear box for the fuel pump, or some other type of lubricant? This is on a 96 502 efi.

Well, i took the whole pump assembly off the motor so i could open it up and get out all the oil. I found some brown gas diluted mixture. Which from my research is the reason why this is supposed to be done every year. The cam arm on the fuel pump only shoed a visual wear mark, nothing pyshical. So i added the drive lube up to the plug, new gasket, and put it back together. Along with a new impellor kit.
Thanks for the help.
