Default Hatch lift binding

The hatch lift on my 22zx seems to be binding just at either ends of the ram. When I first start to open in and when its almost fully opened. And the same in reverse. There is a zerk fitting on the bottom near the motor that I've greased plenty. It'll made it only slightly better after doing this, very slightly. At the top of the ram is a plastic collar that the seems to be wearing and causing this horrible sound. The motor has a sticker that says Aculift MQ347 on it. Can I replace a part or rebuild this thing. I dont wanna have to buy a new one.

you can Disassemble the lift and clean all the dried up grease and then grease it all up ...it should help ...also ....make sure your hatch is "centered" so there is clearance so the padding doesn't bind on the sides of the boat ...usually if that happens it will seem to stick on one side briefly when you open the hatch and then spring free .....m
