If you happen to have autocad i can send you the file i made when i was installing my k-planes...if not i can convert it to a PDF in full size but i'm sure you will have to go to Kinkos or the like to be able to print it out in one sheet...

Ron, with all due respect you are over thinking this. Drilling 90 degree holes is pretty straight forward. What you do need to do is drill them 1/8" plus oversize and line them with an epoxy glass tube to completely waterproof the holes. Don't expect sealant to protect your transom with just 1/2" holes for the bolts. Do the same for the hydraulic fittings.

Make your own template and use it to drill the holes in a scrap piece of wood, preferably as thick as your transom. That way you can test fit and make corrections to your template/drilling technique before risking any crooked off-center holes in your boat.
I did what ren3 mentioned when I installed ext steering. Great idea. Also used Brad Point drill bits after drilling the 1/8" pilot holes. Much more accurate and they cut nice clean holes thru wood and epoxy. Started with a 1/2" elec drill but switched to my 3/8 cordless drill after tweaking my wrists a couple of times.
In regards to drilling straight, I used the situation as an excuse to buy that drill press I always wanted :-) Picked up a couple of samples from the "cut-offs" barrel at the local metal shop and made 1" thick alum drill guides. My transom fittings used pre-drilled backup plates on the inside so I didn't have a lot of wiggle room. Turned out great.
