I'm going to attempt replacing a sagging headliner in my 22zx Donzi. The vinyl is/was glued directly to the fiberglass of the deck, no panels to remove. I know basicly what I've got to do but I have a few questions about making it perfect.
How do I remove all of the old adhesive?
What adhesive should I use to reinstall?
Vinyl usually comes in 54" and 60" widths, how do I keep the seems from bulging?

Good luck with this project. I've heard a lot of people trying to replace their headliner in smaller boats like yours and it only lasting a few months before they're back to a sagging headliner.
Usually the original headliner is foam backed. Over the year the foam breaks down and the headliner begins to fall.
But if you're going with vinyl striaght to the fiberglass, this is the correct adhesive 3M Rubber and Vinyl 80
Good luck. Let us know how it comes out.

i myself am going to be doing this on my boat. but i have a trim piece that runs down the center, its about 18" wide, which breaks up the vinyl runs in to two sections.
As far as removing the old stuff, i have just been sanding & sanding.
Would i use the 3M Rubber & Vinyl 80 to glue the new foam to the hull, & then the new vinyl to the foam? I am not going to be using normal headliner material, but instead a vinyl suede.

i just bought some Klean Strip Adhesive Remover from Home Depot this morning. U just brush it on, let it sit 15-20 mins & then scrape off. worked great on sections of wood trim i am working on to get some of the old adhesive off that held the foam.
