Good idea. I bet you could also use a fire extinguisher bracket/holder.

They look killer!, I am in the same boat [no pun intended!] I just cant justify spending $$$$$ for the billet ones [they are nice though]. How did you fasten them?, just bolt them to the side of the engine area?, or are they attached somehow at the bottom as well?
I am gonna look and see if you can get pipe in colors, or, if it can be painted?

I made some for my 6" fenders out of flat stock aluminum. Then I gave it a brushed look with some fine sandpaper. They're not billet but for about $20 in materials and fastners they look damn good. If someone can tell me how to post a pic I'll do it.
