Roller all the way, I would be crazy to do anything less. I am ordering the Isky Red-zone EZ needless rollers... I still need to make the decission on what i am going to use for rockers, the jesel shaft, or not... at 62-6400 i do not see the benifit of the shaft system, but its only money right

The way I see it, if you are planning on using the best parts available, which it seems to me that you are, why not use the shafts? Unless there was a valid reason other than the cost difference to not use shaft rockers, I would certainly use them.

I will spend the money if warranted on the best parts, but at the RPM's I am running I don't see the benefit. I will most likely get them or the T&D's @ $1,300. I have not priced the Jesel setup yet. But wonder if the money is wasted? Sure they are the best but what benefit at the RPM's I plan on running will I get? I doubt any..

Honestly I wouldn't run a solid roller cam without shaft rockers no matter what RPM. The valve train stability, less guide wear, ease of adjustment, is enough for me, once again this is only an opinion, I'm not an engine builder.

So you really turning 7500RPM's on that 598? How many hours are you getting out of the lifters and springs? Also the bottom end, what componets and how long is it holding together? What drive are you using and how is it holding up?

Some valid points. I have considered them all. Like I mentioned I am sure I will go the shaft direction. For the stability, and ease of adjustment if anything. And after I am done with rockers, studs, girdles, for a few more $$ I can get the complete shaft system.

Yes I do run 7500 from time to time, Crower 4.5 crank, Crower 6.7 billet rods, same since 02. Crower severe duty lifters changed every couple of seasons never had one go bad. Change springs every 35 to 40 hours when the pressure is down. T&D rockers with roller tips and spring oilers, 7/16 pushrods. I started breaking XR drives the 2nd season, wasn't getting more than a couple of hours out of the rebuilds until Mr Gadgets did one for me. His rebuild has 30 hours on it and still going strong.
As far as the XR's How much HP and TQ are you putting out? How do you run it? Easy to speed I imagine for the XR's to hold up.

40 to 50 hours of run time I guess. With the BB2extra 1372 hp 1200lb torque no clue with the Big Duke heads. Way way way to much for an XR, but that's a different story.
