Will an Alpha transom plate bolt to a King Cobra hole?
Hey guys, I am looking at a Four Winns Liberator, and it has a King Cobra transom plate and outdrive, but no motor. The only way I would consider this project, is if a Merc Alpha (Gen 1 or Gen 2) transom plate assembly will bolt up to the king Cobra hole in the transom.
Can anyone tell me if this will work without fiberglass work to the transom???

There was a thread the other day that said that a bravo would bolt up. As far as I know the Alpha is the same bolt patter with two less holes? So you should be ok but don't take my word for it.

Yes it is stronger than an alpha, the regular cobra was too. But parts are getting to be a hassle as it has been discontinued for a while now.. J / Lakeside
