Yeah I'm a pretty big fan of it also. I forgot about this thread. I finished the boat and and it ran 68.8 with 8 people and a half tank of fuel spinning 26 bravo1's at 5100 rpm. But could never get it faster. Constant fear of breaking drives and a scuffed piston led me to take it all back apart. Now I'm currently plugging the transom and recutting for ssm3's, swapping to roller cams and 420 mega blowers with coolers, Cmi sport tube headers and a couple other small improvements.

you know what? kind a did 2 resto. 1 total, 2nd a lot less work... it is actually a great part of what I like in boating... until I sell (-$$$)...LOL! wish I'd do a cat but not enough time anymore to do it, and again, too much money spent for selling value...
for example, some chris cat from 85 to 87 sell complete between 20k or 35k. some higher but exceptions... just to buy 2 used blue engines and drives bring you close to 30k. so you have 110% chances being upside down...
that's a shame cause I wish I'd do another one!

found deal on 35 Cig, bought Cig, use baja engines in Cig (had no power) and sell off/part out Baja
went from 32 Baja that needed completely guyted and redone including paint, moved into 35 Cig that dont need barely anything besides a little interior work...moved up to that for around 2000.00 after selling off stuff from Baja.... thats how its done.....

I could not sell my boat right now for more than what I got into it. But that's OK because I want to use it for at least 4 more years before I find a 32-38 twin boat to restore.

Here is mine. We moved from LA to GA so that slowed our progress a bit. Lots of blood and sweat invested but she is a lot of fun.
