Default Trim/Drive Indicators

I'm restoring an old race boat and modernizing it. Need to figure out how to put inexpensive trim and drive indicators in. The boat currently have HUGE Wolverine tabs (about 2 feet long or more). There are cables that activate mechanical trim setup now but it is from the 80's and HUGE and Ugly.

It looks like the design is to simply move a slider with the cable. I've seen Livorsi / Gaffrig (sp?) indicators that cost 500 and other times that cost 150. I'm guessing there are different methods of actuating, rates of movement, and other variables.

I would like to get 2 drives, 2 tabs set up that is pretty cheap. I would also LOVE if I could integrate this someone in my NMEA 2000 enabled GPS but don't really see a unit that connects to a mechanical setup? No idea how this work.

Advice?
