I was building the same motor that your planning on building before I changed my mind and went with a big blower setup. All the research I did lead me to a stock head 509 would be in the 550 hp range with some mild port work and cleaning up of the heads. If decide to change the heads to brodix, afr of something similar then you open up to another level. With a good set of heads you can be in the 600-625 range pretty easily.
Good luck

I just had an engine dyno'd, all stock long block except .030 over so a 509ci. Stock forged crank, rods,& pistons. Stock 088 heads,Bob Madera sold me the entire valve train, cam, lifters, 1.7roller rockers, springs, keepers, retainers. Went with his recommendation of air gap manifold & quick fuel 850 carb & pulled 510hp @5300rpm & over 500lb ft of torque from 2800-5300rpm right out of the box so 600hp shouldn't be too hard to make with out spending a ton of money. I spent less than $2000.00 on new parts for what I have. Randy
sounds like the exact package he will recomend to me as a response to my friday inquiry [email protected] please let me know if u mind if i email u to ask a few questions
