What engine do I have? 454 Merc but what year?

Engine is in a 1996 Wellcraft Eclipse 2600
It has a mercury serial # tag on it that has a really old logo on it
Serial # is F801691

Any ideas?

Merc. serial numbers 0F-305000-0F801699 454 MAG. BRAVO (GEN. V) GM 454 V-8 1995-1996

Unless you have a paid membership, you have to host the pics on a site like photobucket and link them.

Does the engine have a cast timing chain cover(GEN VI) or stamped steel one(GEN V)?????
