Read something out loud to yourself and if it sounds weird, it probably is.

Well here we have a boat that defies science lol. At 5000 rpm , a 1.5 gear ratio, a 17 pitch prop ( I will assume cupped for benefit on your side, which means it is calculated as one inch more at 18) a boat speed of 59 mph gives us a negative slip of 3.8%......so you are claiming to travel at a speed greater than what the prop could deliver in a zero slippage environment. An uncupped prop would deliver negative 9% slip but most regular stainless performance props are cupped. If you were turning 6000rpm you could manage 59 mph though. At 6000 you are WAY over the motors recommended max WOT.Trolling to play perhaps lol?

Has anyone checked the carb with breather off to see if butterflies are fully open at wide open throttle, could be something as simple and a cable adjustment with the new carb.
