I'm sure they think the 5.3 is a 327 as well. I can't even begin to count how many times I've got in that argument.

Ok, is it possible to find a 4.466 bore big block in a boneyard? Or is essentially aftermarket only?

OP, give Lil Bill a call at Victory Marine in the South Houston area. He has lots of stuff sitting around. If he doesnt have it, likely knows where one is. I had a 502MAG MPI in my Crownline, loved that hoss!

You likely will not find a usable 502 core in a junkyard. Either someone else snarfed it up before you as it would be desired; or it's not worth retrieving.

Do yourself a favor and buy a brand new 502 crate engine , GM makes a number of different configurations for the 502 and they are at a good price considering what you are going to have to do to find a long or short block and then have it rebuilt---even then you cant be sure what you are going to get when you rebuild ;Make sure you maranize the engine if you buy a long block, new marine water pump ,ect....... good luck!
