Exhaust Manifold Mounting
I did do a search and could not find anything - maybe i didn't look hard enough.
i have a 575sci with AFR heads and found the stock bolts are a bit of a PIA to use. i know on cars with heavier manifolds(trubos and stuff) builder likes t o use studs to help with sealing and the weight.
has any one used studs on marine manifolds - cmi style headers?
was thinking it would make installing them easier and help with gasket sealing
Help a noob out?

To avoid the pain in arse of holding the manifolds in place while starting the bolts do this.
Get 2 longer bolts and grind off their heads to make mounting guides.
Slide on the gasket, then manifold. Once the manifolds are lined up put in 2 real bolts, remove the headless bolts, and install the remaining real ones.

i think it was mentioned already, but i use studs on just the end holes on each head.
the header gaskets are designed that way also
its enough to get headers on and started.
i have stelling headers, they are pretty heavy.
good luck ...
