Run -10 lines from tank to pump to regulator and return. -10 or -8 to the carb. Never use the rated bare minimum for your fuel supply. I've seen too many customers bring me engines that were damaged from running lean with a Holley Blue. I've shown a lot of people that were upset with how their engine performed after it had been dynoed that their fuel system wasn't up to snuff. Got a pump and lines capable of delivering the fuel installed and was a complete different animal. DON'T SKIMP on your fuel system.
Ok Smitty so you are telling me that the A-1000 is the only pump that can step up to the chalenge and it is the best buy...Is there a mechanical pump that can do the job properly.

Weldon has an equivalent to the A1000. Probably a few others. Holley does make a mechanical that's supposed to support that kind of power. But I've never used it. So I can't vouch for it. I will say, if I can find one I'll be giving it a shot next spring.

I'm running the Holley 6-valve mechanical pumps on my 500 hp BBC's. They are rated for 1300 hp on gas.
These guys were the orig manuf of the 6-valve pumps, then Holley bought out.

I sent them my pumps for re-build and they increased the spring press to produce 14-16 psi. I run a Aeromotive adj regulators after the pumps. Holds 7.25 psi at any RPM. You would need a boost referenced fuel press regulator.
