E.O.I.C valve setings questtion
Hey guys...simple question..I want to messure valve/piston distance and i'm doing the e.o.i.c valve settings.I have hidraulick roler lifters so the question is do they have to be fild with oil or not..thank you

When you are setting valve lash on hydraulic lifters you are compressing the compressible part of the lifter (that which would be pumped up with oil pressure when running).
Even if there was a way to "fill" them with oil you'd be pushing the oil right back out as you snug the adjuster nut down.

When you set valve lash you are setting lifter preload. This is how much the lifter is compressed without oil (hydraulic pressure) being present. I can't really answer how easy it should be to compress a dry lifter, but when you are setting preload that process compresses a lifter just like when you squeeze it by hand.
