They are putting everything behind the ZR line now. I would not be surprised if they did not drop more ZX's in the future. I really enjoy my 33ZX and think it has a lot to offer.

They are pushing the ZR more... The 38zx is still available, at least for now.. I still like the Zx's too.. Jamie / Lakeside

The Major reason why was the mold was getting old and to retool the mold was more espensive to redue. The 33ZX was a great boat but as time went on the design like any design gets old and sales were dropping. most people that want Performance boats want speed and the 33ZX as nice as she was didn't deliver the speeds people wanted, thats were the ZR line hit the nitch. The ZRs are out selling any boat in its class and even with the cabin lower then the ZX line is not becoming an issue.
33 ZX Twin 496 HO Top speed; 72mph
35 ZR Twin 496 HO Top speed: 84mph
I don't think they will drop the 38ZX there is still a client base that wants a big cruiser performance boat.

When I was shopping a couple years ago, I didn't like what I saw down the sides and bottom...not a dig, just adding validity to the molds needing redone.

Especially now with PQ gone. There's even fewer choices in a luxury/perf boat of that size...

Look for something in the 31 foot range coming fairly soon.
