Talking First run 01' 38Daytona!!

Well I finally had the chance to put my new to me Daytona in the water this weekend and boy was it a thrill. Water was about 1ft chop, so it was perfect to get some air under the hull and lighten her up. 4 people and half a tank of fuel I was running 80 at 4800rpms

I still had a fair amount of stick left to go, but I am trying to take it easy on her until I make sure everything is mechanically sound. I feel like 85-86 may be in reach. BTW the boat is turning 32" labbed Bravo 1's behind Innovation 600's. Not bad for a big ole' pig in the water!!

Livewire here - Great to hear you got her in the water. What drives does she have and what gear ratio are they set to?

they are 1.5to1 Bravo's

I know that I will be replacing them pretty soon. I have run the boat some more at Lake of the Ozarks, and hit 83 at 5100rpms. Not bad for over 1/2 tank of fuel and glassy water. I still think with some decent chop I'll hit that 85 mark.

Thanks
Corey

BTW how is LiveWire treating ya'?

Corey,

LiveWire is treating me Great! I will be in LOTO at the end of the month for the July 4th weekend. I'm bringing a couple that has never been there. It should be fun. What do you think you will be replacing the drives with? LiveWire is running BMax with a 1.4.3 to 1 ratio with 28P lab Bravo 1 4 Blade. I am thinking of changing the ratio to a 1.3.0 to 1 and trying either Herring 5 or 6 Blades or 4 Blade 30/32P Bravos. What do you think? I run consistantly 84 to 85MPH in glass to 1ft chop on a full tank of gas and 2 to 4 people. I ran 87/89MPH on glass in the intercoastal in Sarasota with 4 guys and a full tank. Then we went out in the Gulf in high winds with 6ft waves and ran about 93/95MPH with about half a tank now. One guy on the way out and one on the way back got some good air time and couldn't stay on their feet when a surprise 8 to 10 footer came out of nowhere. It was a rush. I just want to get some of that salt water speed in fresh water without messing with the power. I like to keep the Innovation Marines stock. Mine are 650's. Looking for any input you or your Donzi Dealer friends might have or from our Offshoreonly folks out there.

I know of a few guys that are running the Merc. Maximus 5blades and are having GREAT luck with them. There is an 02 Daytona here with 700's and Max Machine drives who is running pretty consistent 90mph plus in sticky fresh water. I am going to try switching to the Maximus down the road, but first I have to get the drive situation handled. Probably going to go to a Max machine works drive setup, sticking with the 1.5to1 ratio. I absolutely LOVE the handling of these big ole' pigs. They sure feel nimble for how big they are!!

Maybe we'll see ya at LOTO, although it won't be this year. Got a baby coming around the first week of august, so our boating season is almost over

Congrates on the new baby Where can I find info on the Max Machine Drives? I love the big pigs too - but that 38ZR is growing on me and my wife loves the 12ft swim pad - she hates the scoops on LiveWire

When I showed your pics to my wife she said the same thing. Loves the boat, hates the scoops A good friend of mine has a ZR with staggered 525's for sale. I've been on it a couple of times and it absolutely rocks. Runs right at 90-91, which is amazing on such tame power. Check out www.maxmachineworx.com That should get ya started on the drives.

Are you going to be at LOTO for the shootout this year? That will be my next trip up

We are thinking about it. If the couple loves this 4th of July weekend it good very well happen. I'll let you know either way. Where is it going to be this year? Wasn't last year the last one at Shooters 21? They are making condos or something there? Has it been torn down yet or have this changed again?
