I have been looking for a sweet 16 for a while and i just called about one in my local paper. The only problem is that it says that it is a jet boat. I never talked to the guy yet but did donzi make a 16 with a jet drive? If so what years did they make them in. Thanks a lot in advance!

the older 16 skisporters with a volvo i/o and sb power are low to mid 50's mph boats they don't have trim and the drive leg is a little deep the newer sb powered merc boats with trim are high to low 60's boat, trim and getting the weight out of the ass end and getting the X dimesion up can get the 16 into the 70's and low 80's
the jet boat would let you run in shallower water and would give you trim and a big ass rooster tail , not sure on the issue of the weeds with the jet drive I have seen a BB olds berkley jet 18 that was a mid 50's boat a threw a huge rooster tail
it really depends on what you want to use the boat for, might make a great small -medium lake boat probably not a great rough waqter boat

Jet's are better for acceleration. Great for a chop, not good in the rough stuff because you need the azz in the water. When you think Jet, think quick and fun. Perfect for a 16... If you don't buy it, please PM me the ad info, I may want it.

i sold donzi's for several years, they did indeed sell a jet boat about the time that searay etc had come out with theirs.. it ran well but couldnt make the grade for steering and thus not good enough for racing other manf. jet boats
