Default transducer location on a 28ZX

Is there a locations where a thru hull transducer will work or is there coring in the hull for the steps ?

On the boat I had it was epoxyed near the center under the motors, But it only worked when going slow, at speed there was too much air going under the hull for it to work, I did read some where that some one said to but in the foward bilge pump area but i coundn't say how that would work.

the original transducers from the factory were mounted in the fwd bilge area. dont buy a cheap transducer.
