Exclamation what GPS do you have?

I have a 26ZX. I want a gps. What did you buy and how did you mount it. Did anybody do an "in-dash installlation" ?

I did a Northstar, the lower end units. I got the one with the built in GPS. The reason I went with it is the smartcraft capability although I haven't fully wired the smartcraft up to it yet. project to be for now.

It works fine, I put it on the right side of the dash above the trim switches/throttles. There is really no good spot for one.

If I ever re-do it all I'd do a new dash panel and set the biggest screen(s) I could in the dash with smartcraft gauges.

I have a Livorsi gps gauge. It looks cool and matches the rest of my gauges; however it is the most “generous” of the gps units I have used to check speeds. After some input from others I barrowed a hand held gps, used the unit out of my truck and the I phone app. Four different units gave me four different speeds

Installed the Garmin 740S which turned out to be a great unit and most importantly I was able to get powdercoat bezel from Livorsi to match my other gauges. It's also large enough that it works great to display my virtual gauges (also installed Merc Monitor to convert digital buss engine info to display on Garmin)
Check out the install at: https://picasaweb.google.com/1159749.../ActiveThunder

I have a 740S also with a thru hull transducer, and XM, mounted on the dash behind the winsheild on my 00 ZX28. I love it, works great on XM plus we have the weather and in the gulf you need it.
