Default Looking for 35ZR

I have a buddy looking for a 35ZR, fresh water and blue motors, not fussy about paint/int/color. Looking to spend around 100K. Not interested in ZX's or other brands.

Thanks!
Michael

That might be a tall order. Over 1/2 the 35 Zrs were black motors. Add to that freshwater and $100k. Tough to find.

I have just what you are looking for.
But would not sell it for 100K

Just curious, what #'s would a HO boat run?

I agree guys, and I hope I didn't offend or insult anyone with a percived "low ball" offer (-:

I don't think 100K is a hard number, he would go higher, but, needed a rough point to limit, I personally think he would be plenty happy with black motors, but, it's his cash, so, his choice.

How about 38ZR's? I assume you aren't gonna get anywhere near one with blue motors for 100K, however if there are good deals out there I would appreciate it if someone let's me know. Same goes for a 35/38 with Black motors, if it's a great deal I could try and "push" him away from blue motors.

Thanks Guys! I appreciate the help

Michael

A 35 with black motors runs mid 80's all day long. The 525's make it low 90's and anything more than that is a handful to run. A 38zr with 525's will run 90ish but is much more settled at that speed than a 35.
There are some good deals on 38's with 525s but again not $100K. I don't think they made any with less than 525s in them and if they did it was only one or two.
That said, the 35 is a fast, real reliable package with the black motors.

I agree Tom, I think mid 80's is plenty quick enough for what this guy needs, he is basically a pleasure boater who wants to run the occasional poker run, BUT, its one of those situations where his "next door neighbours former babysitters brother in laws cousins co worker" told him that Blue Motors are the way to go, guess sometimes you cant tell people what they dont want to hear {-;

I stumbled onto this one, its not 100K, but, not real far from it, any thoughts?

Nice boat. Looks clean. Good price if the survey checks out.

I would want a leak down test done on the motors due to the hours and also check the headers. Mercury spec'd some crappy headers on the 525's and they were notorious for leaking back into the motors.

Thanks Tom!

I emailed asking for some more info, I had heard about problems with the exhaust, hoping they check out ok, they ain't cheap to replace!

Any difference in speed, handling, etc between a staggered or non staggered set up? Anything to be aware of?

Thanks again for the Info!

No first hand experience but I've done a ton of research since the 35ZR is on my short list for the next boat. I don't think it'll run anywhere close to mid 80's with 496HO's. Most people on OSO say 78 - 80 in perfect conditions.
