here all different stories, anybody know what the maintenance schedule should be, they are the newer style wet sump sixes before they were changed to dry sumps. how often should they be pulled off boat. bought boat from lake cumberland year and 1/2 ago had them re rig and come to find out after about 80 hours , we pulled drives and port and starboard back motors were atleast 1/2 inch out of alignment, and everything was put together dry no lube whatsoever everything rusted to s#&t. yokes were rubbing inside bellhousing because of alignment,
nice to spend money twice. we did change lube every 30-40 hours 15 gallons.

We pull ours off at the beginning of the year and grease the Ujoints and splines...change the drive oil every 25 hrs (might be over kill but cheap insurance)

Your drives are Wet Sump not Dry Sump. Every 50hrs. will do just fine. But what your doing is sure good protection. We used the proper grease recomended on the imput shafts of the U-Joints splines. I recomend you pull your Drives off every
100 hrs. Max. Doing this you should be fine.
