any one have measurements on where to loacate the engine mounts on a alpha 1 gen 1. Distance to center from transom and side to tide with standard merc mounts.

It depends upon what engine you are using. I swapped a 4.3L to a 5.7L in my boat, and the mounts went forward 4". I think SBC and BBC are same location, but I am not sure.
If you are using a SBC, I could measure mine if it helps you.
My stringers were not full length, so I added stainless steel C channel to make them full length. Dropped the motor in, then drilled and bolted the mounts down to it.
You could also relocating plates from a Chevy S-10 V6 to V8 conversion kit if you wanted to make no changes. I decided to just use the channel.
