TRS Merc II to BW Conversion
Hello everyone,
I am a new member here on OSO, been lurking around all season. Purchased a 30ft 1980 Scarab S Type back in March and have been working the bugs out all summer. Boat is currently twin 330 TRS Merc II powered, but I scored a set of BW 72 C's with the TRS tails on them for a winter conversion project. Questions are:
Does anyone have a setup laying around that would include the bellhousings, drive plates, starters, and shift linkage brackets, drive yokes, bolts, springs and washers that they would want to part with?
Also looking for a nice set of mechanical indicators for the TRS's if anyone has a set they want to move.
Also does anyone make stainless skeg guards for the older TRS drives, I have seen the ones listed that fit the early bravos but I don't think they are the same?
I know I have to move the motors forward about 6 inches, and there is plenty of room to do it. Looking to get it re rigged this winter and put bigger power in next winter.
Will probably be on here with many more questions as this thing progresses, cant wait to tear into it though. Any tips, advice or recommendations are more than welcome as I tear into this thing.
Thanks,
Brad Harbold
