Dick,the shims are common gm 10/12 bolt rear end pinion shims, the same bearing that fits the outdrive on the big lower gear is the identical bearing/race the gm 10/12 bolt rear end uses also,ratech,DTS,randies etc sell the pinion bearings/shims real reasonable,Smitty

I use loctite press fit assist on anything that has dissimilar metals and is pressed together (steel into aluminum,metal clad seals into aluminum,etc) to help ensure it doesn't get loose when warmed up/cooled down. The stuff is still removable though without heat so its not a big deal to dissassemble,Smitty

I have the same bearing puller from Randy's. It is way better than a press, but it is a little pricey if you rarely use it.
