Default Bravo 1 HP drive

I have "HP" drives on my sonic. They are dual pick up drives. Are there any other differences between the HP and the standard B1, besides the dual water pickups ? I hadn't heard of them before.

My last Fountain had the "HP" drives. As far as I know the dual water pick ups are the only difference. Don't think the internals are beefed up, the X, XZ, and XR drives were the upgraded versions.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that merc changed something in the standard bravo drives after a certain serial #/production date. I know the change was for the better. I thought it was around the 2000-2001 year.

Thanks guys. I got on BAM's website this morning. Gear sets have the same part#, so I think it's just the dual pickup.

Back in the day the Hi Perf and Diesel drives had shot peened gears. Not much of an improvement, but for the time it was something. After that, the XR showed up and then the X gears for the Bravo1, that made the Hi Perf just another name..

Hope this helps
Dick

So were they shot peened in 2002? I seem to dimly recall reading about it sometime in the past.
