Water Pressure Problem
I have an 88 Baja 280 with twin 454's. Both engines were rebuilt this winter. My starboard engine doesn't seem to be circulating water properly. When I have muffs hook up to the drive I have to have alot of water pressure for it to start coming out of the exhaust. The port side engine requires very little pressure for it to circulate. I have replaced the impeller with no change. The engine does not run hot. Should I be concerned.

Double check your sea pump hoses for correct placement. Maybe the reason why they dont overheat is that you are providing just enough pressure with your hose. They may overheat if they are pulling water with the pumps? Try to mark where your good engine takes enough water and switch motors and give it the same water and see if your risers heat up?
