Just a quick question and I know this is the place for answers,
My last boat I had no problem shifting in and outa gear while the boat was not running, (bravo) My new boat Bravo also seems very hard to get into gear this is with out it running, I have not yet ran it but I have had the drive removed and serviced and I did do a eddie marine bracket since I went to ss risers, Any Ideas I did not change any cable adjustments Thanks

The way the gears spin when the engine is running it "helps" the shift fork do it's job. If you ever looked at one while the rear cap is off and the shift fork is out of the way - you would see the gap in between the two gears make a "wave" motion. This is another reason Merc "clocks" the gears (+/-) Some people actually feel the motion while applying very little pressure on the shifter.
