#5 going down slow
I need a little help trying to pinpoint my problem. I have a single #5 on a 32 velocity . The drive has always been slow going down. But the last 2 weeks its like not going anywear unless i bump it up and then back down like 5 times. If i push down on it it goes down or when its on 8 or 9 and i put it in gear it goes right down. could it be the pump or one of the rams ? where would i start to check. I just changed the fluid no change. it always goes right up no problems . Thanks Curt

I had the same problem tho then you have and believe it or not it was a bad ground on the pump.

Thanks i'll try both of those. Its a 1996 single 572 NA 670 horse EXPRESS ENGINES #5 right hand. Has a 1" spacer and i'm turning 27x18 4 blade clever running 75 mph on gps (82speedo LOL) I have to slip it about 4800 to 5000 rpm's with the tabs all the way down to get on plane. Its got either a 162 or 168 gear i believe. the twin to this one has the other gear (Bruce was'nt sure) I was in the market for a 28 and this popped up for less than most 28's its got an all stand up race set up with drop out bolsters up front. Thier are a couple of pics on the velocity forum from England boat 8 to 10 feet out of the water. Curt SS32
