The previous owner of my boat used Mercury High Performance Gear Lube+ in the Bravo1 drives. I had planned on sticking with that. He had mentioned that he read an article where they tested a Bravo1 with Amsoil lube and had favorable results, but he never made the switch.
Does anyone have any other lube that they would recommend? Anyone have anything negative to say about the Merc lube? My drives are original '92s, so I just want to give them the best protection possible. I run in fresh water 95% of the time with an occasional trip to the salt, hour meters say 315+/- which I believe to be true but don't know for sure, and my motors are probably pushing somewhere around mid-400s for hp. I will probably just stick with the Merc lube unless someone tells me otherwise.
Also, does anyone know what weight the Merc High Performance Gear Lube+ is? It doesn't say anywhere on the jug.
Thanks in advance.
