Default Velvet Drive Issue

I have a 72C that was cleaned and a master rebuild kit installed. It had pushed the front seal lip out. Reinstalled with new cooler and shifted fine F-N-R and in ten minuets at the dock it pushed the lip out the front seal again. I am thinking the pump may have wear on the gear faces allowing pump pressure against the front seal? It did not overheat the fluid and had no noises? Any ideas? Thank you.
