You are correct. They have gained 8mph over a scx with this new drive so far.

8 mph is pretty good so far. The arneson averages about 10mph from what I have read.

Default imco scx-4

i guess that by now everyone knows that the pics in the thread are not of the surface drive lower. the new shape should help considerably. i can't wait to try it on a fast single engine cat within the next few weeks.

http://www.imcomarine.com/cal_store/...ing-black.html

12.5 scx
8.5 gimbal and steering
800 new helmet
300 xl reservoir
400 crap coupler
bellhousing, etc$$$

Thats why Arnesons ARE cheaper when you compare apples to apples. But you 'can' save some money since most boats have gimbals and hyd steering... then again its stock bravo hardware. I have gone thru 2 couplers in another boat and just have a bad taste for them... whats the limits of the coupler? Mine were due to alignment but holding them in hand doesnt give me a warm fuzzy, not to mention gimbal bearing and shifter cable issues ive had on the fountain

That was somewhat what I was thinking. How much is a box?
