The kits that you listed, is that considered the x gears?

Kind-of-not-really

All the new style gears, including the X have the thicker floor. The actual X gear is the same gear but the input spline on the U joint is bigger. But people do call these the X gears even though they are not. Did I explain it OK?

Yes. I understand. The larger spline would obviously require a new input shaft. Are there any other parts that can be added to help my bravo 1 live a longer life? Do the thicker floored gears make that big of a difference? I'm not shearing teeth off, but cracking the floors out of forward gear.

Thanks

They will pretty much eliminate cracking the floor out. Your problem is the reason Mercury came out with them.

Because. I wanted to compare. The damage to the gear is not a crack its material from the washer that broke. I was thinking about replacing the bearing and washer and swapping it to the bottom gear.

The first time mine broke it busted the bearing. I put a new bearing in and 5 minutes of run time later it's busted the gear floor out. Here a picture of the bottom cracked out. I'm in the middle of putting thick floor gears in my drive and hope that works better.
