Default Another bravo failure

Anyone ever seen this before? These were purchased brand new last June, gear oil changed 3 times in 20 hours, all clean and good, this year put on about 10 hours, then out of no where it was hanging up getting out of reverse. Drive shifted in/out forward perfect, into reverse perfect but got tight pulling it to neutral. Upon arriving to the dock to load up, approx 10 min ride, the final time it was put in reverse it stalled the port motor. I'm thinking part failure??? Just looking for some input on what you guys think.

Drive was assembled last year using all mercury specialty tools, all tolerances within mercury shop manual specs, only used mercury high performance 90wt gear oil

I had the clutch cup shear off of the gear with maybe 10 hours on it but
that was due to a crack in the gear between a tooth.

if the gear is still ok, I know the bravo shop sold the bump rings
( which merc doesn’t)

I am guessing no one used Green Locktite when they installed the Brass ring at the factory, so it came loose and jammed up till it broke the ring,,I have seen several of these where the ring came off,,improperly installed at factory.

I was thinking it was a factory defect myself, so I'm glad to hear that, I'm submitted a warranty claim with mercury soi guess we will see, of course it happened 2 weeks outside the 1 year warranty on parts
