Is that the Imco steering setup? How did you go about mounting everything?

I have the same on my Cobalt 343 and am pretty sure I chipped a gearset a couple weeks ago. If these are an option I'll bite and keep my original Bravo 1 XR as a spare.

I got to be honest so far I'm happy with them they shift real smooth they're quiet so far so good we'll see how they last.

Keep in mind, the SEI's are regular Bravo's and not XR's, so they may not hold up to your power.

I used a set of SEI lower gears in a Bravo in a 27 fountain with slightly warmed up 500 efi engine, they did not last long BUT that was a while ago, Smitty

yep , when I talked to the SEI rep, he said they are rated for the same horsepower as a regular swept bravo with all interchangeable parts

yep I hear you, I'm not a cheerleader or a spokesman for SEI, I chose to go this route because of the price point and being new, for 3K these days you're buying a used 20 year old Bravo that's been twisted, torn apart, put together who knows what,
at least these come with a three-year warranty and the service has been great. I had questions a couple times when I called, somebody answered the phone, and they were very pleasant, not sure I would get that when I buy a used Bravo

Just placed the order for a 1.50 unit to replace my 20 year old XR drive behind a 425 HP engine. We'll see how it does right next to the newer Mercruiser XR leg on the Stbd side. The newer Merc leg was $8K last year and my local dealers are quoting me $12K now.

Thanks Boatnt for the reply on the Imco Steering.

Did you put Mercury Racing decals on the sides of them?
