I'm not positive which displays will do Vessel View. Garmin comes to mind for some reason, but no idea on Simrad.

Sorry, I just haven't played with that protocol at all. But it's possible you could split the canbus signal at ECU and run a N2k gateway over to Simrad, keeping Vessel View network in tack for your other systems.

Would you have a list of items I would need to convert to a digital dash with carbbed engines? I was thinking of using a Raspberry Pi and ADCs, but you seem to really excel in this area where I'm just learning.
Thanks

Probably best ADC to N2k out there is this one. https://nolandeng.com/rs11.php

Good unit. I've worked with them in the past.

Default Mefi3

So I’m a newbie also, to get a digital display/chart plotter to work with mefi3 I would need the nolendeng converter because I’m still analog correct? Any help would be great!

MEFI 3 is pre-canbus design, but there is a guy who make an N2k gateway specially for those MEFI units. Check out fox-marine.com for a list of what gauges his units provide. Besides that, yes the Noland units would be other option for converting analog sensor into N2k data.

Just noticed it's been 5yrs since delsol talked me into this crazy HEFI gateway project. And the wife was just yelling at me moments ago about the N2k monitors and cables beside my recliner. She is a very patient women...

Seriously it's been a very cool project that's allowed me to meet some great people along the way. Have decoded the canbus data sets to connect all the aftermarket ECM's, along with many of the OEM units so far. Helping people drop all sorts of strange engine configurations into boats.

I gets calls from all over the globe now from people doing interesting engine swaps. From LS powered cigs, to BAJA 1000 trucks, wicked air boats, and even flying boats over in Asia. These little boxes have ended up on some pretty cool toys over the past 5 years. Now we are starting work on version 3 with some added features to allow better user configuration, and hopefully get this equipment outa of my living room for good..

Thanks for all the support OSO members.

Cheers,

-Ken
