pretty far back, 30-40'???

I can set the trim where I like it for a 70 cruise as soon as I roll over. at 50-60 it's a monster rooster, 6-8' but as the air packs and the bow rises the drive's are effectively trimmed back into the water even though i've not touched the controls... make sense?

Handles the slop very well. Its the straight on 8' rollers that are a problem. just back off the throttle and hope for the best .
It gets around soo much better than my lil 25 I had though which is what I was looking for. My next boat will be a cruiser. If ya cant beat em may as well join em.

That is the sweet spot!

I have a 26 with walk thru bowrider. At a 50mph crusie with 1 person in front, if they just go and sit in the back increases the speed 3 mph. i am guessing that the 30 being longer the weight to the front does not make as big a difference. My boat runs faster full of fuel and people in the back seats, then when it is low on fuel & light on people. When lite the transom will lift instead of the front thus low speeds.

I think the bowrider in my boat costs me aprox. 10mphs on the top end due to the weight & wind resistance.

Ill take the loss in speed for the added versatility of the open bow. Its working out great for us so far. well except the passengers in the front when we take a cruiser wave off the bow lol.
