the 28's are too heavy for single power. They end up being really hard on drives. As for insurance I cant see a single high hp being much cheaper than a twin small hp engines.

I have a buddy of mine at LOTO that has a 99 28' Tall Deck with a single 1000hp in it. I have seen it run 100mph. He says he has had it to 110mph. Since he put a XR with Imco parts in it he says he hasnt had any trouble with it but I dont think he's to awful hard on it.

Insurance???? Its going to be about the same. HP is HP..

What is cheap? Who are you insuring it through and do they know what it really is?

Just curious, I am always in the market to save some money for more fuel.

Kirk, I got a quote under $800 for a 24 Skater. Couldn't get the deal to buy the boat to workout though.
