Hello,
I recently purchased an excalibur, and was wondering if anyone had any history on the 40' Hawk or even that of excalibur boats in general.
thanks

Well you are in the right place. As far as info goes there are many better historians here than me. The Hawk 40 was offshore powerboat of the year in 1982. Fountain got there start with a 31 Excalibur and eventually came up with Executioner. What year is your boat? Wellcraft bought out Excalibur in the mid 80's and some of the Hawk 40's were actually Wellcrafts. Do you have any pictures?

Cracker,
My excalibur was made in 1983, I do have pictures, but I cannot post yet, emailing them would be no problem. I see you are in texas, I am as well ,(houston), atpresent time I am rebuilding the engines for the summer.

Thank You all for all the info on Excalibur. Its really Neat to know that Reggie Fountain Used one of Bill Farmer's Excalibur 31' models to begin his testing and design for Fountain,, no wonder those Fountain guys always wave to us on the water hehe, and Matt,(aka. Excaliburhawk40) definitely has my vote for best restoration on an Excalibur I have seen. That Power boat magazine Cover shot really made my day. Thanks for all the info and help.

I have owned an '82 32' O.S. since 1997, I have no truoble with the hull or transom in general, and the boat seems to be solid as a rock.
Un fortunatly I have to get rid of it. email [email protected] for pics.

I purchased your old boat about 5 mounths ago and have been working on getting it back into shape. I was wondering if there was any information you had on the boat. The place I purchased the boat from didn't have anything on the boat.
Thank you,
