Default 40 Hawk in MO

Saw this and figured I'd share: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/boa/1098084875.html

1982 Excalibur 40' Hawk - $29950 (Lake of the Ozarks)

The greatest performance boat buy on Lake of the Ozarks! A 40' Excalibur Hawk with twin 488 cubic inch big block Chevrolet power. Engines are topped off with GMC 8-71 superchargers with Holley dominator carburators. Outdrives are TRS. We have owned this boat since October 2000. All routine maintenance and services performed to a very high standard by very particular owners. Performance exhaust with captains choice on the level of exhaust sound allows you to control how much of the power you hear. Interior in excellent shape. New sport powdercoat swim platform with dropdown ladder, new rub strip and new seat coverings installed in the past few years. 10,000 pound lift that the boat is currently sitting on included in the sale price. Buy all of the performance for only 10% of the price of new!

Curiosity got the best of me and I had to inquire. From the owner...

The top speed that we have seen is 68 mph on the GPS. Not sure how many hours are on the hull and/or engines. My partner Dale may be able to help with that information. In my opinion, the hull and paint/graphics are in great shape for a 1982 boat. No structural issues that we are aware of. Boat runs great. We had one blower rebuilt a few years back due to an oil leak. Other than that we have had no mechanical problem.
Dale, my partner on the boat, did all of the maintenance and he is a fanatic about maintaining everything he owns. You can address any specific questions about maintenance to him at the email address on the cc line above.

None of us had seen it on LOTO either, and I boat with Paul (Hawk40). Potentially a good buy.

Did Paul ever repower? What did he go with? My buddy has not run his yet with the Konrads, but im expecting it to run 75 or so with 650's.

Not sure... haven't talked much with him over the off-season. Drop him a line.
