PS,
I had the 16" twin piston bennett tabs - plenty of room for them, and they worked just fine. Planes would be better - there is room for the angled cut ones. My only complaint was that is didn't have a sharper entry at the bow, like the 20' cigs and 22 donzis.

Boat is only 23' and 3 or 4" long.

That dash was also custom made - the "boxes" on each side.

Set up right they are a great boat - just wear your kill switch when gittin' it in the rouph

Here's what I dragged to the dump back in 1999.................

I have a 1977 24ft Excalibur I will be selling soon. It has original paint & interior, but the motor (454) has only approx. 123 hours on it.
Motor has steel crank, forged pistons, after market cam,MSD ignition, aluminum heads, K&N flame arrestor. Exhaust is from a 502,,center rise, thru transom. It also has borg-warner tran, TRS drive, trim tabs & full teak swim platform. I will post pics as soon as I figure out how to use my new camera! Thaks for taking a look.

Went through 14 gallons epoxy resin building a second set of stringers outboard of the existing ones, and beefing up the originals, installing full bulkheads etc. Had to cut cockpit sole out to get to center of boat - deck was glassed on - didn't want to cit it off. Locked up tight when I was done - loved the boat for @450 hours. Ran about 80 with 470hp BBC, nose cone (1st style bravo) 25p mirage - 5,400 rpm---- light boat, low slip - really rides on that 4" pad at higher speeds. Later years (like '79) had much better bottom construction, larger stringers from what I saw.

Countless hours of work, only to watch it run down the Cheasapeake Bay without me (got tossed) for 8 miles, hit shore, and go up in flames....................
Unbelievable story! Bet u will use a ignition kill switch for now on.
