yea Tim . . .that is the place around here. . .

OK . . . i have some update stuff. heres some pics of filling in the gauges. luckily Sean clearly marked out everything that needed to be filled but somehow i still missed the indicator hole

pretty straight forward stuff. cut some plugs out of the same thickness plywood to fill in the holes. i lay a piece of tape tape behind the hole to hold the plug while its curing. coat the entire plug with epoxy and pop it in than fill the perimeter gap with an epoxy/404 mix. at the surface i used a single layer of 1808 bi-ax cut slightly larger than the plug. i beveled back the holes about a half inch.

after its cured grind the surface down and fill any small air voids with a skim coat of a light filler. i use evercoats "metal glaze" but only for minor stuff. do all your major stuff with the west systems. finish sand and and prime

My wife and I decided it was a good idea to do a project like this ourselves. You know, save some money spend some quality time together and get away from the kids for a while . Why didn't someone try to talk some sense into us.

Both of us now have the utmost respect for glassdave, grafikworks and all of the others i can't remember after an evening of paint fumes. What they do is an artform and takes a great deal of skill, education, dedication, pride.....the list goes on and on.....

Thanks for sharing some of your work with us!
