spent some time fabbing up some flat stock for the lip that will be bonded under the deck hatch opening. this will serve as a shoulder for the hatch to rest on when closed. this is made of 4 layers of 1808 bi-ax and the center section that was cut out provided the pieces to fill in the vent holes that were filled an the rear sides of the boat (alittle thinking ahead on that one ).

these pics actually came from my new cell phone. motorola v710 pretty nice quality, i am really impressed with this phone

got my composite panel yesterday for the windscreen riser so i got started on that. this is a composite panel from Coosa and will serve as a core for the final piece. i use this stuff because it shapes rather easy and gives my fiberglass a good base to bond to. building the mock up out of the foam gave me a decent template to work with. transfered it to a cardboard cutout and layed out my general shape on the board. i cut the leading edge first and will not cut the rear arc out until i have it right where i want it. the windscreen guy has requested a 5/8 inch back set to accomodate a 1/2 inch piece of lexan.

you could put a lexan hatch in the bow and it could be a "lay down" boat instead of a sit down.....

looks good though, i will seek alternate methods for the hinges.....
