Dave,
Ive got a question, earlier in the post you said that the open time was the time that the clear coat needed to go over the base coat. Im not a painter but have always been interested in it. ( Small Projects around the house)

Does this mean that the clear goes over the base then sanded and grafix goes over the clear?

Also how is it that during a custom paint job does the lines come out so jagged? Some of the lines look as if someone tore a sheet of paint and glued it to the boat.. Thanks for your insight, I know it takes a lot of time keeping up with such an open thread as this..

thanks Mo, tough question to answer. it depends on the graphics you are trying to put on. if there is a large fade involved it is easier to do that by its self than clear that part of it, sand that clear down apply graphics than clear again. otherwise if you can get everything on in short time clear should be applied before 24 hors has past. if you miss that window you can re-coat with the color (difficult if you are using several colors) or i have heard adheasion promoter though i always stage my stuff to be on before 24 hours has past.
