OK . . last i left off (some time ago ) i had bonded the front part of the riser to the deck. the rear extensions are made from the same Coosa composite covered in several layers of 1808 bi-ax and west system epoxy. basically the coosa serves as a core that can be shaped and covered and has a semi structural property. these pieces were roughed out than bonded to the deck and glassed into the front part of the riser.

this is where it got tricky. needed to clean up the inside of the piece so i made up these extensions to follow the lines off the front piece. these two little parts took more work than any of the others. they will also add rigidity to the upright pieces.

after everything is bonded and glassed togather it is than roughed out with 40 grit to very close to its final shape. to fine tune the shape the entire surface is covered with westsystem epoxy and fairing filler. this stuff works great for taking care of any porosity and puting a nice radius on all the edges.

you want to try to not use to much filler so if alittle glass comes through when you are getting the final shape thats OK.
