I think most of the top sprayguns are all good, its just a matter of what your used to. also learning to ajust them to your styly of painting. if you work with one for a while you will get used to it. some guns spray out a little slower and some faster.

Grafix, your right on about the type of gun you are used to. been using my GTI for years and really like it. just got the PLUS gun last year. it sprays clear awsome but is about the least efficient gun i have ever used reminds me of an old MBC . most of my clear goes out the fan an i am sure you will agree . . . painting boats this size you dont want to waist anything. i am a PPG guy so everything is DBC with 2021 clear all my repairs are primed with K-36 above waterline everything below is gelcoated. i try to keep all the repairs and any custom glass finished to a very high degree so i dont have to rely on primers for any filling. seems when you build up alot of paint meterial over gel it can get easily damaged or chiped. what are you guys using?
by the way, i have always admired your work. you are definetly at the top of the game in this field. i find myself "inspired" by much of your work. every time i think i have seen the coolest paint job you guys crank out somthing ever cooler

Re: boat painting 101
glassdave, is there a reason/benefit of k36 over k38? What sealer do you use, or do you use the k36 for the reason that it can be used as a sealer also. If I recall it is also tintable.
