well actually it depends, usually i am painting over gel and not old paint. i use to use DP48 (white) over the entire boat but now i only use it if it has a lot of repairs or is a complete color change. on spot repairs i shoot K-36 first than DP over that to help paint coverage over the primer. I have never had any adhesion problems with K36 by itself so i dont bother with DP underneath it. On all white boats where i am doing graphics and not much repair i normally sand to 320 and shoot an adhesion promoter like Bulldog than go straight to base color, any repairs or custom glasswork gets spotted in with DP48.

I can't believe I read this entire thread
It was somewhat informative but it was extremely entertaining. Thanks Dave, I actually did learn a few things.
I love the NAMBLA graphics, but how do you know about such an organization?
